The Carillons of St. Paul

St. Paul’s Carillons have been ringing out into the community for decades with inspirational hymns and an invitation to all who hear them. Newsletter articles have told the stories of visitors to Strasburg who loved the sound of the chimes and music in our quaint community. Between the time of the old carillon not working and St. Paul’s purchase of the new system in 2006, many folks in the community voiced that they noticed the absence of the bells in our community and how much they were missed.

The Current System:
Purchased in October 2006 from Schulmerich Carillons, Inc.
Model: Generation 4TM Novabell -- digital

Plays Westminster clock chimes
Mon - Sat: 9am-9pm hourly and Sun: 1-9pm hourly

Plays hymns (according to church season)
Mon - Sat: 9am, Noon, 3pm, 6pm and 9pm
Sunday 12:30pm, 3pm, 6pm and 9pm

The carillons manually toll the age of the deceased at the end of funeral services.

We thank Joel Kline of our congregation who is at the controls, changing time settings at beginning and end of Daylight Savings Time, placing the chimes on hold at times of weddings and funerals as to not disturb the service, manually tolling the age of the deceased at the end of funeral services, and changing the music cards at church season changes (approximately 8 times a year).
