Worship and Music Committee

The Worship and Music Committee is charged with seeing that worship services are conducted regularly and in accordance with the liturgy of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America. Its scope includes overseeing the choirs, ushers, and caring for paraments, vestments, and musical instruments.

When one steps into the double doors at the front of St. Paul Ev. Lutheran Church, they will be warmly welcomed by a couple of Greeters prior to the worship services on Sunday morning. The Greeters welcome all who enter and offer to visitors a "visitor's cup" that contains a brochure about St. Paul and a few small items to say "welcome, we're glad you are here, and please join us again."

Altar Guild

One of the most important ministries that falls under Worship & Music is the Altar Guild. This is a most often behind-the-scene ministry that calls for a sense of reverence and dedication in preparing the chancel and altar for the Sacraments. We have several teams with such reverence and dedication who rotate so that we have one team serving on each Sunday. They prepare the altar and elements for the sacraments of Holy Communion and Baptism, make sure the proper vestments and banners are used according to the Church Season, check that the candles and flowers are ready, and clean the communion ware and altar linens following each service. In short, they do anything necessary to make the Chancel and Altar ready for the sacraments and worship, paying attention to many details. They look at this as a service to our Lord as well as to the church!
